Most rooms get the right answer from one of two routes. Made to measure is for windows that don't fit standard sizes, fabric you want to choose properly, and rooms where you want the curtain to do its job. Ready made is for guest rooms, holiday lets, and refreshes that have to happen this weekend.
We measure, make, and fit across the Cotswolds, including Cheltenham, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Chipping Campden.
For windows that don't fit standard sizes, fabric you want to choose properly, and rooms where you want the curtain to do the job properly. We measure, you choose the fabric, lining, and heading, and they're made up and hung within four to six weeks.
Standard sizes, in stock today, ready to take home. Useful for guest rooms, holiday lets, or when a refresh has to happen this weekend rather than in six weeks.
Fabric photographs even worse than carpet. A pattern that looks pretty on a phone reads completely differently at scale, hung against your wall, in your light. A weave that looks tight on a thumbnail can be loose and floppy in real life. The only way to know is to feel it, see how it falls, and put it next to the carpet and wall colours it has to live with.
We have over a thousand fabric samples in the showroom, sample books you can take home, and a fabric library at the back that's worth coming for on its own.
Most older Cotswold houses have windows that don't play by the rules. Stone reveals, lintels at odd heights, deep sills, leaded panes, sash windows, casements, and the occasional shaped window over a stair. Standard tracks and ready made curtains don't always cope.
That's where made to measure earns its keep. We've measured curtains for cottages with original wattle-and-daub walls, Georgian townhouses on the High Street, barn conversions, and pretty much everything in between. The fitters know which tracks work on stone, which poles need extending, and how to handle a window that isn't square.
We carry fabric and ready made curtains from several fabric houses on rotation. The made to measure side is fabric-led: you choose the cloth, then we make the curtain.
Usually four to six weeks. Slower for some hand-finished fabric houses, faster if the fabric is in stock with us already.
We don't make up customer-supplied fabric. Our makers and our suppliers work as a unit and we can't stand behind a job we haven't sourced.
Three main options. Standard lining for most rooms. Blackout for bedrooms. Interlining (a soft fleece layer between curtain and lining) for sitting rooms and any room where you want the curtain to hang heavily and feel premium.
Pole reads more traditional. Track sits flush to the wall and disappears into a pelmet or behind the curtain heading. We'll recommend based on the room.
Yes. Bay windows need a curved track, which we measure and supply.
Yes. Practical fabrics, harder-wearing linings, often a more economical fabric range. We talk through the right specification for a let.
